The Rise of Crowdsourcing
Few trends have as much potential to impact the way Australian businesses compete than the recent introduction of crowdsourcing – a fast, affordable, accessible service set to change the way Australians source and collect content.
Crowdsourcing works on the concept where instead of deploying a dedicated team to collect field data, companies approach people already in the field to carry out tasks and answer questions. How do they do this? Via the internet that accesses an iPhone app with gps locator that ensures ‘jobs’ are issued where ever the task needs to be completed. Each job has a limited time for completion and is paid at a fraction of the cost it would take to source a team to travel and complete the same job in the field.
With companies such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Kraft, Unilver, Walmart, Disney, Kimberly Clark, Heinz, Philips and 7-Eleven already reaping benefits on the international stage – Australian businesses are now deploying crowdsourcing techniques to collect in-store photos, audit data, opinion polls, survey information and much, much more.
Small businesses are also tuning into the cost and efficiencies crowdsourcing has to offer creating a level playing field for many companies who have in the past found it difficult to compete.
The Realise Group provides crowdsourcing to clients via its Field Agent™ iPhone application. If you wish to find out more visit www.fieldagent.net.au or contact us on 0403554319 or agent@fieldagent.net.au
